Objectives
The aim of the Biology Education undergraduate program is to train qualified biology teachers who will teach biology in private and public secondary schools affiliated with the Ministry of National Education, shape the future of our country, think scientifically and critically, question, utilize their creativity, embrace the information age, are free from all prejudices, possess the general culture, pedagogical formation, and subject matter knowledge required for teaching, are knowledgeable about all psychological, physiological, and sociological issues encompassing adolescent development, are aware of the cultural and historical background of secondary biology education, are able to use Turkish correctly in written and spoken form, are able to effectively use modern technological tools and equipment, are free-minded, and possess the skills, attitudes, and competencies related to the roles, status, and duties required by the teaching profession. Furthermore, it aims to train qualified faculty and researchers to meet the needs of educational institutions.

The goal of the Department of Biology Education is to: In light of current developments, our aim is to provide a resource and infrastructure for a higher quality, contemporary, adequate and effective education in the field of Biology Education, which trains internationally respected and preferred teachers, researchers, education specialists and academicians with both undergraduate and graduate education and research; is known for the quality of its graduates; is a leader in Türkiye and recognized globally in terms of the education provided and research conducted; trains contemporary, ethical individuals who are successful in theory and skilled in practice; reflects developments in education to society; and continues to exist as an institution that provides educational services to people both in its city and in its country through strong collaborations with its stakeholders.
